Of Sound Minds encourages new perspectives on sound and the art of listening by presenting experimental music and sound art on Salt Spring Island and around the Capital Regional District of British Columbia. Our activities will appeal to people from a broad spectrum of backgrounds drawn by a sense of curiosity, an openness to new ideas, and an interest in expanded listening. Events include ad hoc concerts, mini-festivals, regular soundwalks, and, within the monthly 4:33 Club, workshops, artist presentations, and informal discussions.

OSM operates on the generous work of volunteers, occasional small grants, nominal admission charges for some events, and donations. To help OSM continue its adventurous programming, contributions would be greatly appreciated. Donation jars will be at each event, or you can send an e-transfer to soundminds@shaw.ca
Of Sound Minds foregrounds the act of listening, including the importance of listening, learning and unlearning in the practice of Reconciliation. We are grateful to gather on the unceded, traditional and ancestral territories of the SENĆOŦEN and HUL’Q’UMI’NUM speaking peoples.
